Primary Science Quality Mark

Chater Junior School is taking part in one of the largest funded research projects about primary science ever run in England, knowns as the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM).
The PSQM is led by the University of Hertfordshire, will be evaluated by Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met) and is funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF).
The PSQM is designed to set every child on a path to a life filled with exciting opportunities, by giving them access to high quality primary science education.
It is a one-year, evidence-informed, professional development and school improvement programme.

Aims

To raise the profile of Science.
To provide a framework and professional support for developing science leadership, teaching and learning
To improve pupils' attainment and engagement in Science.
By participating in the evaluation, Chater Junior School will contribute to furthering knowledge on strategies for whole-school improvement in Science teaching and learning.
