Primary Science Quality Mark
- Chater Junior School is taking part in one of the largest funded research projects about primary science ever run in England, knowns as the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM).
- The PSQM is led by the University of Hertfordshire, will be evaluated by Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met) and is funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF).
- The PSQM is designed to set every child on a path to a life filled with exciting opportunities, by giving them access to high quality primary science education.
- It is a one-year, evidence-informed, professional development and school improvement programme.
Aims
- To raise the profile of Science.
- To provide a framework and professional support for developing science leadership, teaching and learning
- To improve pupils' attainment and engagement in Science.
- By participating in the evaluation, Chater Junior School will contribute to furthering knowledge on strategies for whole-school improvement in Science teaching and learning.
